Loging Out and Saving from any Link or Button

You can easily set any link or button to be used as a Logout or as a Save button for Total/Easy CMS. In the example below, we are using the Foundation Button Group to be used as a Logout for either the Total CMS Protect stack, or Joe’s PageSafe stack or to be used as a Save button for Total CMS.

Logging Out

We will first learn how to use the button group to logout using either the Protect stack or PageSafe stacks. First, let’s look at how to do it with the Protect stack. Once you have your Button Group stack set up, click on the button you want to use as a logout button. Click on it to get the settings for that button. They should look like this:

Button Group Stack Settings

Now you need to set a class for the link of this button. To do that, click on the link button, and you will see the link sheet drop down from the top of RapidWeaver. Leave the URL area the way it is. Click on the little plus button (+) under the Custom Attributes area and you be able to enter a new attribute for the button. The name of the attribute should be class and the value should be total-logout and if you typed it in correctly it should look like this:

Button Group Link Settings - Protect Stack

Now click on Set Link to make the sheet go away and you are good to go. Now, if you are using the PageSafe stack, follow the above instructions, except this time when you enter a value, you want to use pagesafe-logout instead. When you are finished it will look like this:

Button Group Link Setting - PageSafe Stack

Again, click on Set Link and your logout button is complete.

Saving Total or Easy CMS

Again, set your button up click on it to get the stack settings. Click to get the link button to get the Link Sheet to drop down and click on the plus button (+) to add a new attribute. Again, the name of the attribute should be class but this time for the value, you will want to put in cms-save. Click on the Set Link button and you are good to go.

The above way can be used with any link (image or text) or with any button stack out there. Just adapt it to suit the way the linking for that button works.

Now go forth and make your websites great!
