Why are image file sizes large on export?
Rapidweaver controls the format of your images when they are exported. There are two locations where Image Format can be configured:
- In the General Tab in the Page Inspector in every page. This setting will affect the individual page only.
- In the Template Tab in the Site Setup. The setting here will affect all new pages added to your site.
Original - This is the original output from the plugin, not original format of the image put in by the user. in the case of the Stacks Plugin, all images that are placed in an image stack get converted to PNG.
JPEG - This option obviously will export your images as JPEG.
You will also notice that there are several compression settings You will also notice that there are several image quality settings for JPEG in order to reduce the file size: Low, Medium, High and Best. Use these with caution if you care about image quality. The higher compression (Low quality setting) could potentially result in image quality loss. You will want to play with these settings until you have a good compromise between file size and image quality.
PNG - This option obviously will export your images as PNG.
